Our Lagniappe Dulcimer Fete is in less that 2 weeks. Lots of great music with hammered and mountain dulcimers. Lets meet our featured performers and instructors.
Aaron O’Rourke
Aaron O’Rourke began teaching and performing on mountain dulcimer at the age of 16. In a short period of time, Aaron became one of the headlining names at many dulcimer festivals across the country. In 2010, Aaron won the National Mountain Dulcimer Competition held at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS. Aaron is also a past winner in the Florida Old time music competition held in Dade City, FL and the Southeastern Regional Dulcimer Contest in Mountain View, AR.
Carol Walker
Carol Walker’s formal training includes a degree in Music Education, with majors in piano, harp, and voice. For 32 years Carol was a high school choral teacher with an active and successful program. She purchased her first mountain dulcimer in 1999, and a folk harp in 2001. It wasn’t long before she found a way to combine her love of teaching with her new direction in folk music, and she has been a popular workshop leader at festivals across the United States.
Dana and Hank Gruber
Dana and Hank Gruber (Sweet Funk) make up this instrumental duo of mountain dulcimer and acoustic guitar. Their music is a blend of contemporary and traditional favorites, along with their own original compositions. They have been the featured performers/instructors at a number of dulcimer festivals and clubs in the mid-west. They are currently active members of the Hills of Kentucky Dulcimers, a mountain dulcimer club in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area.

Yes, Joyce’s artwork is a keepsake, will grow in sentimental value as time goes by. We’re glad to have her as a Lagnaippe member.
